Description

Intel Core i7-6700 is a Skylake desktop processor for the LGA1151 socket. Its four cores and eight threads run at a 3.40 GHz base frequency and boost up to 4.00 GHz. It has 8 MB of Intel Smart Cache and a 65 W TDP. The dual-channel controller supports up to 64 GB of DDR4-1866/2133 or DDR3L-1333/1600 memory at 1.35 V; standard 1.5 V DDR3 must not be used. Sixteen PCIe 3.0 lanes are available for a discrete graphics card. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 runs at 350–1150 MHz and supports up to three displays. Before installation, verify Core i7-6700 support and the required BIOS version for the specific motherboard because the LGA1151 designation also appears on incompatible platform generations.
