Description

AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D is a Zen 5 desktop processor for the AM5 socket. Its eight cores and sixteen threads run at a 4.70 GHz base frequency and boost up to 5.60 GHz. It has 96 MB of L3 cache and a default 120 W TDP. The dual-channel controller supports up to 256 GB of DDR5: AMD specifies DDR5-5600 with two modules and DDR5-3600 with four modules; AMD EXPO profiles are overclocking settings. The processor provides 28 PCIe 5.0 lanes, with 24 usable for devices. Integrated Radeon Graphics has two graphics cores running at 2200 MHz. AMD lists A620, B650/B650E, X670/X670E, X870/X870E, B840, and B850 chipsets, while exact motherboard support and BIOS must still be checked. No thermal solution is included, and AMD recommends liquid cooling for optimal operation.
