Description

Intel Core i5-7400 is a Kaby Lake desktop processor for the LGA1151 socket. Its four cores run in four threads at a 3.00 GHz base frequency and boost up to 3.50 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost 2.0. It has 6 MB of Intel Smart Cache and a 65 W TDP. The dual-channel controller supports up to 64 GB of DDR4-2133/2400 or DDR3L-1333/1600 at 1.35 V; the motherboard determines which memory type is used. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 runs at up to 1.00 GHz and supports as many as three displays. The processor provides up to 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes. A build requires an LGA1151 motherboard that explicitly lists Core i5-7400 support; the socket alone does not guarantee compatibility, so chipset and BIOS must be checked.
